Mommy Blog Alert!

First of all can i just say, my husband is playing Nintendo (dirt bike racing game) and just finished a race and is now watching the instant playback of himself racing, does this seem strange to anyone? Maybe it's just me. Anyway.....................after reading Kristin's blog about the article she found on "mommyblogs" I had to go check it out for myself. I can see the point I guess but I'm pretty sure that doesn't just go for mommyblogs, I bet there are some other REALLY boring poeple out there that don't write well and are very uninteresting so here's my big, brilliant answer to that whole dillema........................are you ready...........................it's really good...........ok here it is.......... DON'T READ THEM! Are you kidding me!? Out of the millions of blogs on the internet you actually go past the first line of something you consider boring and then find more so you can rip on them on your own blog. Hmmmmmmm GET A LIFE comes to mind. I find it funny that someone thinks they are so great at writing blogs that they feel the need to"give pointers" IT'S A BLOG, who cares! Move on with life and leave the mommybloggers alone!

Ok enough of that onto new business.

So I get a call this morning and it's a number I don't recognize. Being the somewhat quirky call screener that I am, I of course decide not to answer it and see if they leave a voice mail. They do. I listen. It's a principal from a local grade school who wants to talk to me. Now can I first say that I graduated in the Spring but still had summer courses to complete my degree and have been patiently(not really, I need a job dammit!) waiting along with 50 other grad students to get a job (minus the 7 that got them before we graduated). I called the lady that I student taught with this year to ask her if she's knows what's up since she always knows everything before anyone else. She was out of town but told me to call the principal back right away. So I did. She offered me a temporary long term subbing position! I was stoked. Not only because I would have a job (well until Nov.) but that subs get paid more, and I would have lots of help setting up since it's not really my class. All the benefits without a lot of the hard work. Don't get me wrong it will still be killer but I don't have to set up my own classroom (which is expensive). The lady I am subbing for is taking extended maternity leave so she wants to meet with me and show me all of her plans, how she sets up her room etc. This will be so nice for a first year teacher. I know that she will probably do some things that I won't end up doing in my own classroom but the experience is great and I get my foot in the door at that school which will be awesome for the following year.

So that is my big news for the day. I will end with a mommyblog:

I made dinner tonight. We ate it. It was good. Then I gave my daughter a bath, she pooped in the tub. I almost puked. Then I made cookies and ate too much dough. I almost puked. Can't wait for tomorrow. It should be a good day of mommyish type things. The End

Ah, there's nothing like poop in the tub to say to a person, "I'm a parent now."

I love mommy blogs. Mommys rule.
